This half term we are learning about ‘Am I Healthy?’ We are looking at all the things that contribute to leading a healthy lifestyle like diet, exercise and personal hygiene.
In Literacy we are looking at the book ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’. We are focussing on sequencing the story and talking about the foods that we like and dislike. We are enjoying investigating the different vegetables from the story and exploring fruit in our Fruit and Vegetable shop in our role play area.
In phonics, we are learning the following Phase 2 sounds; e, h, c, k, u, r, b and f. We are looking for items that begin with that sound and practising writing them.
In Maths this half term, we are focussing on our number recognition from 0-20. We are practising our counting skills and matching number to quantity. Later in the term we are going revisit these 2D shapes; square, circle, triangle and rectangle. We are going to look for shapes in the classroom environment and even take part in a ‘shape hunt’.
Our class has PE every Thursday and we will be focussing on moving freely with confidence in various ways.
Our class change our reading books every Wednesday.
Our class is given homework every Friday, which is due to be back in school on a Wednesday.
